ShopStack Privacy Policy
ShopStack ("we") respects your privacy. This policy explains how the ShopStack Chrome extension collects, uses, and protects information.
What the extension does
- Locally analyzes publicly visible technology signals on pages you actively browse (HTML, script URLs, response headers).
- On Shopify stores, may read public product JSON to display catalogs and export files.
What we store
- Saved stores and scan history stay in your browser (chrome.storage).
- The current version does not require an account and does not upload detection data to our servers.
What we do not do
- We do not access Shopify or any platform admin/back office.
- We do not collect or upload your full browsing history.
- We do not sell personal data.
Chrome extension permissions
- host_permissions: read the active tab's public HTML, scripts, and headers for technology detection.
- storage: save saved stores and scan history locally.
- tabs: get the active tab and request detection from the content script.
- webRequest: read HTTP response headers (Server, CDN, etc.) to aid detection.
- sidePanel: show analysis results and product export in the side panel.
Estimates & scores disclaimer
Revenue ranges and store scores in the extension are heuristic references based on public signals and industry averages. They do not represent actual sales or business performance.
